Established in 2016 Scherzo international piano competition aims to nurture young pianists and provide them with a performance opportunities
First round (online video selection)

The jury will announce the results of the first round no later than March 1 , 2022. The participants admitted to the final round will be invited to Live auditions, that will take place at Israel conservatory of Music Tel-Aviv, Israel.

* Following the ongoing Covid-19 restriction as well as other difficulties, the participants that will be admitted to the final round, but won't be able to travel to Israel will have a chance to participate in the final round of the competition in the online format.

Jury
The jury includes internationally recognised pianists, experts, and music teachers.
István I. Székely
István is a concert pianist and internationally recognised teacher: he has been invited to give Master Classes in the Bartók Béla Faculty of Arts in Szeged, Ádám Jenő Conservatory in Budapest (Hungary), the Kunstuniversität of Graz etc.
He is frequent jury member in international competitions such as the Franz Liszt International Competition in Rome (Italy), the Takács International Competition in Oberschützen, The Bartók Béla International Competition of Graz (Austria), Bucaramanga (Colombia), the IMFV Valencia competition, the Ibiza International Competition, the "Villa de Xabia" International Competition etc.
Winner of several awards in national and international competitions.
Yanina Kudlik
Yanina is a Head of Akadma Conservatory in Ashdod. She is a founder and art director of national piano competition “Piano forever “, Editor of classic music program at the Ashdod Performance Art Center. Yanina Kudlik is a member of the society of the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition, Tel Aviv.
Prof' Asaf Zohar
Prof' Zohar is Chair of the piano faculty at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, Tel Aviv University. Formerly dean, performing arts faculty, and piano department chair at Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. Graduated from Givatayim Conservatory, Rubin Music Academy at Tel-Aviv University, and Indiana University (Doctor of Musical Arts degree). Prizewinner, Casadesus competition in Cleveland and contests in Vienna, Sydney and Pretoria. Prof' Zohar has performed with Israel’s leading orchestras, including Israel Philharmonic, under Zubin Mehta, David Robertson, Urs Schneider, Mendi Rodan, Noam Sheriff, David Shallon, and others. Concertized in Austria, Germany, France, England, Spain, Italy, Russia, Georgia, USA, South Africa, Australia, and Japan.
Mr. Ariel Cohen
Mr. Cohen is the Artistic Director of the Arthur Rubinstein International Society and competition.
Mr. Cohen is a former Director of the Rishon-LeZion Symphonic Orchestra, pianist and Hi-tech professional.
The jury of the Competition has the right:

to divide the prizes between the participants

to establish special prizes for the best performance of the piece composed by Israeli composer, best performance of the etude and the best performance of the piece by featured composer.
The jury’s decision cannot be subjected to revision.

The teacher of the prize winners will receive diplomas.

Video recording regulation &
copyrights

It is allowed to record separate complete pieces, they can be also from different dates. Video Recordings, which are edited or processed inside complete pieces, will be not accepted to take part.

The camera must be placed on the right side of the instrument and must show the keyboard, the face and hands of the participant during the complete performance.

The Video Recording must have a reasonable video and audio quality (at least 720p) with no background noise.

The video must include the category, the name and the surname of the participant.

The recording should be made on September 1, 2021 at the earliest.
Copyrights

By registering at the Competition the participant declares that no third party will recognize any copyright and / or other legal rights for video, audio and other materials uploaded or created during the Competition.

All rights for the distribution of audio and video materials of the Competition, including commercial purposes, belong to the Organizer of the Competition.

Participant transfers the rights for the broadcasting and distribution of materials (including the Internet) at no charge, in any territory, for an unlimited period of time to the Organizer of the Competition.

The Organizer of the Competition has the right to broadcast the auditions of the Competition and the final concert on radio, television, the Internet without any additional fee to the participants.

The Organizer of the Competition owns the exclusive right for audio and video recordings of the competitior’s performances, master classes of guest musicians, videos of the concerts held as part of the Competition and their use in advertising and teaching purposes.
